Ten Reasons Why I am A Fashionista!

The video posted with this entry was created as part of an application for the Oakridge Style Agent contest.

What Your Style Says About You.

Style is one of the most intricate forms of communication. Although style is not limited to communication, it is at the crux of what one’s personal style has to offer. One’s unique style can create a powerful first impression. It can also act as a conversation starter or icebreaker. One’s style can indicate they are approachable and outgoing, or the very opposite. For example, an outfit comprised of a black high-waist pencil skirt, a teal top tucked in with matching belt, and a pair of striking heels…and you may just hear, “ I love your outfit, where did you get your…?,” more than once. There is no easier way to build a rapport with a person, than by sharing your fashion secrets.
Style is empowering because it allows one the freedom to choose what aspects about herself or himself that she/ he wishes to express. The possibilities are unlimited. Your favourite attributes, colours, music genres, work environment, recreational activities, personality traits (i.e. detail-oriented, down to earth, etc.) can all be inferred by one’s style.
Style does not have to be static, nor should it be. It is as dynamic and fluid as the chapters in one’s life. It can evolve and mature into a creative masterpiece. A key aspect is that style is as multidimensional and unique as each individual. Each distinct style is like a signature that enables one the ability to communicate on her/his own personal level. Most importantly, being the master of your own style can not only make a first impression, but can leave a lasting impression!
